In the first half of this year, the development momentum of renewable energy in China
was good, with stable growth in installed and generated electricity.
As of the end of June, the installed capacity of hydropower in China
was 418 million kilowatts, wind power was 390 million kilowatts,
solar power was 471 million kilowatts, biomass power was 43 million
kilowatts, and the total installed capacity of renewable energy power
exceeded 1.3 billion kilowatts, reaching 1.322 billion kilowatts,
a year-on-year increase of 18.2%, accounting for approximately 48.8%
of China's total installed capacity.
From January to June this year, China's renewable energy generation
added 109 million kilowatts of installed capacity, accounting for 77% of
the country's new installed capacity. Among them, hydropower increased
by 5.36 million kilowatts, wind power increased by 22.99 million kilowatts,
solar power increased by 78.42 million kilowatts, and biomass power increased by
1.76 million kilowatts. The national renewable energy generation has reached
1.34 trillion kilowatt hours, including 516.6 billion kilowatt hours of hydroelectric
power generation, 462.8 billion kilowatt hours of wind power generation, 266.3
billion kilowatt hours of photovoltaic power generation, and 98.4 billion kilowatt
hours of biomass power generation.
The position of renewable energy as the main body of newly installed
power generation in China has been further strengthened,
and its role in ensuring energy supply and promoting clean
and low-carbon transformation is becoming increasingly prominent.
